Locatienet was founded in 1996 and is based in Breukelen. Locatienet is an independent private limited company since March, 2000. The current shareholders are PTV-AG and the management. Besides its flagship brand Routenet, Locatienet also exploits the websites www.snelheidscontroles.com and www.locatienet.com for the Dutch market and www.snelheidscontroles.be for the Belgian market.
Locatienet is the number 16 internet publisher in the Netherlands with a monthly reach of 30% and 2,999,000 monthly unique visitors (Multiscope, Juli 2004). ‘Locations’ are the core business of Locatienet. The basic principle underlying all its commercial activities is answering the question ‘Where is it and how do I get there?’.
