I have implemented Locatienet™Map&Route, but an ERROR shows up. What is wrong and how do I solve it?
A wrong ID-code was used. Check your authorisation e-mail for the correct ID-code.
The post code you entered belongs to a PO Box (which doesn’t have co-ordinates). Enter an enquiry based on street, number and city.
The Locatienet™Map&Route is authorised for a different domain. (For example, www.example.co.uk instead of www.example.com) Check your authorisation e-mail which URL was authorised. And check for which URL you implemented the Locatienet™Map&Route.
You have used options of the standard package while the basic package was requested. Remove the details you entered in the box or link for css, background, bgcolor and logo. Test the tools again.
Our company moved or opened a new branch. What do I need to do?
On the page ‘Instructions for Activation’ you can enter the new address and compose the link. When you replace the old link (in the HTML-text of your site) the new address is shown.
I want to implement Locatienet™Map&Route but my address/post code is not included in the data, causing a wrong location to be displayed. How can I use Locatienet™Map&Route properly?
If a wrong location is displayed, try sending an enquiry to the server without a post code. The search will then be based on street, number and city.
When all details are entered, the search is automatically based on post code.
If your details are unknown, a Location code can be made. A post code (co-ordinate) is picked for you. Send an e-mail to info@locatienet.com with the address of the location concerned and a print-screen of the map on which you have indicated the desired location.
How do I make a print-screen?
Go to www.locatienet.nl and enter an address or post code in the immediate vicinity. Find your street using the navigation buttons (move, zoom in and out). Choosing the option street level helps picking the most accurate location. Leave the page in this position.
Open Powerpoint, choose an empty presentation, without Auto-indeling (in other words, an empty page).
Go back to the internet page (at www.locatienet.nl) and hold down at once both keys for CTRL + Print Screen.
Go back to Powerpoint and choose Paste (Edit > Paste).
Use a rectangle or an oval (from the drawing toolbar) to indicate the actual location.
The codes are picked once a month (on the 15th).
The Locatienet™Map&Route calculates a wrong route.
It is not possible to enter changes in the data should a wrong route be calculated. Try for a correct route by using the options ‘Optimal’, ‘Shortest’ or ‘Fastest’. See ‘Instructions for Activation’, Locatienet™Map&Route Route.
If this still is not a solution we will inform our data supplier. They will include it in the next version.
Can I include an animated logo under the map?
If the animation is saved as a gif-file it can be placed under the map.
It is not possible to link the logo to a different site.
Moving of the logo/image under the map is only possible with the XML-feed (pro package).
In which languages can Locatienet™Map&Route be consulted? How can I change the language?
The Locatienet™Map&Route Basic, Standard and Pro are offered in Dutch, English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish. You are permitted to use these different languages without additional costs. The codes for the mentioned languages are: Dutch = dutch, English = english, German = german, French = french, Italian = italian, Spanish = spanish.
The Locatienet™Map&Route Plus package can only be consulted in one language (per subscription), with a choice from Dutch, English, German or French.
For which countries can I use Locatienet™Map&Route ?
The Locatienet™Map&Route can be used for all European countries. Setups can be found with the ‘Instructions for Activation’ of your Locatietools.
How do I include the house number in the text ‘Destination’ in the route?
In order to do so add the following parameter to the HTML-link to our server: "&naam=Straat+huisnummer+te+Woonplaats" (without inverted commas).
The background color I entered is not displayed.
The colour code must be entered without ‘#’. So FFFFFF instead of #FFFFFF.
How do I implement the Locatienet™Map&Route?
For the Locatienet™Map&Route Standard and Plus you are required to include in your site a hyperlink to our server. This link must contain your authorisation details and the address to be displayed on a map. To compose the hyperlink please go to the page ‘Instructions for Activation’ of your Locatietools. How do I implement the Locatienet™Locator?
In your authorisation e-mail you received a user-ID and a password to log on to the Administration Tool.
Once you are logged on look for ‘your Locatienet™Locator URL’ in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Place the URL in the HTML-text of your site.
What is the difference between price per location and price based on transactions?
Price per location:
The number of branches (addresses) that you will show with a map and route.
In other words, you pay for the number of branches, regardless of the number of enquiries.
Price based on transactions
Each map or route retrieved through your site is considered an enquiry. You purchase a fixed number of transactions per year. If all transactions are used within 12 months new transactions can be purchased. Locatienet keeps track of the amount of transactions per customer.
What if I reach or exceed my fixed number of transactions?
Locatienet informs you if the number is reached within 12 months. You have the opportunity to purchase a new number of transactions.
I want to apply my corporate identity. Which package should I purchase?
If you want to apply your own corporate identity to the design of the Locatienet™Map&Route Standard, Plus and Pro are available for you. See option ‘Choice of package’.
Can I adjust the colours of the map?
No, since Locatienet generates all maps from its server park in a standardised way you are not able to adjust the colours and content of the map. Exactly because of this standardisation Locatienet is able to offer large numbers of high quality maps for relatively low prices.
However, with the Locatienet™Map&Route Pro package you are able to adjust the size of the maps.
Our branch(es) are located on busy shopping streets where cars are not permitted. Can I use the Locatienet services?
The Locatienet™Map&Route Plus package offers the option to make route locations. Besides the address of the branch you can also enter the address of the car park or parking garage. You can then enter a route description from the car park to your branch. This description is printed below the actual directions.
What is an Open route planner?
An open planner allows the user to enter both the destination and the departure address. The route planner on www.routenet.nl is such an open route planner.
I want an open route planner. Which package should I choose?
The Locatienet™Map&Route Pro package comes with an XML-feed. This allows you to build the route planner entirely according to your own design. As there are no fixed locations you are billed based on number of enquiries. If you wish Locatienet can carry out the implementation for you. I only want a route and no map. Is that possible?
Yes, it is possible to retrieve a route without first showing a general map. This must be indicated in the hyperlink. To compose the hyperlink please go to the page ‘Instructions for Activation’, option Locatietool Route.
I only want a map and no route planner. Is that possible?
Yes, it is possible to display only a map. By disabling the authorisation for the route the link ‘Plan your journey’ is not shown.
I am only interested in the distance between two locations. Can Locatienet help me?
Yes, the Locatienet™Map&Route Pro (xml-feed) package offers this possibility. Go to Demo page XML for a demonstration. Because the results are given in XML the information can easily be used in your own (BackOffice) applications.
Update database Locatienet™Locator
The Administration Tool helps you maintain the addresses online.
You receive the codes to log on when you take out the subscription.
We can also supply the entire database anew. For the processing of this update EUR 75,- is charged per database.
Owners of the Locatienet™Locator Plus (with properties) must remember that with a complete update the properties need to be attributed again, too.
